Sarat Reang

SATYANANDA REANG : (born on 27 February 1978 ) Professionally known as Sarat Reang , is a kokborok film director, cinematographer and action director. He is best known for his works as director in Mari, Nwngbai and Bwkha . He also worked as a Cinematographer in various movies . He is one of the top film maker of Tripura. He was felicitated by many local organizations for his creative works in his film.

EARLY AND PROFESSIONAL LIFE:
There are only a handful production houses in Tripura, he tried his hand on camera, then moved to music videos to later discover his love for being a movie-maker. Being a fresher with music albums in 2003, shifted his eyes to movies four years later. He used to be a film-lover in his school days but never thought his love for movies would land him into the film-making. His films are appreciate by many local organisation and people of the state but he yearns to see his movie enlisted for national level award .

Biography:
He was born on February 27 ,1978 in Gachiram para , kanchanpur,North Tripura . His father Karmamani Reang was a government employee. He wanted to become a cricketer when he was a young.He had done his schooling from RKI (Radha Kishore Institution) . When he was in class nine he started liking watching movies of Akhsay Kumar ,Ajay Devgun mostly action movies his love for movies would land him into the film-making. His father inspired him alot throughout his career from the beginning. Till today he used so many cameras but for the first time on 1997 his father gifted him a camera and that moment inspired him to make movies .His mother Priyatama Reang was a house wife , he has three sister and one brother . His two elder sister worked in kokborok feature movie Langmani Haduk (1993) ,it was his first experience where he could differentiate a person whom he see in his home and the same person was quite different in front of camera. His Sisters also inspired him in this industry. On 18 June 2008 he married to Sarita Reang and now they are parents of a 8 years old boy and a 3 year old girl . His wife also supports him but According to him in this industry earning is very limited so artists aren’t paid enough somehow technical teams manages to survive . According to him its really film maker to survive as a film maker in this industry . Till now He worked as director in five feature films and he is working on few more movies which are yet to realise . Beside feature films he made few short movies and music albums also . He worked as a cinematographer in the movie Kwtham Kothoma . He is being appreciated by many organisation and many leader’s for his creative works but he yearns to see his movie enlisted for national level award. He believes that one day his movies will also get national recognition.

Filmography

So far Sarat has made total 5 movies “Nwngbai ( 2010)” , “Bwkha(2015)”, “Nwngbai2(2016)”,“Mari(2015)and “ Kuchuk Ha Sikam (2020)”. In 2010 “Nwngbai” a fictional romantic movie realised , Rex Debberma and Suranjita played the role of main characters. “Bwkha” a romantic kokborok feature film which created a history in the kokborok movie industry. Abhisheak Debberma , Kutu Debberma and Sarboni Debberma are played the role of main characters. “Maari” it is a documentary movie of 90 minutes to promote tribal culture in Tripura .On 30 January , 2015 it was released in mandai with collaboration with TTADC. “Nwngbai2” is a kokborok feature movie realised on 23 September,2016 . Rex Debberma and Nisha Debberma played as lead characters. “Kuchuk Ha Sikam” it is a big successful movie realised in 2020 it is based on the love story of Kanchanmala . Juhili Debberma , Manoj Debberma and Rocktim Debberma played the main characters. So far he made 5 successful movies and he said he is still working in many more projects .
